Our dyes : Garment dyeing Garment dyeing is certainly an Anglicism in French. But above all, it’s a way of telling you about a process adopted for our dyes. At OONA Home, we love to talk about softness, patina and slightly aged cotton. But telling you this story is really about telling you the Garment Dye’s one. So, what is exactly the garment dye? Quite simply, the modern dyeing’s invention. It consists of applying the dye once the cotton threads have been woven and the pieces made. And not the other way round, as it was the case for a long time. Dyed in the mass, the cotton obtains a softer, more subtle and natural finish. And on top of that, it is generous. It allows us to create rich and tonal colour palette. To sublimate the seams, the material, the finishes. To preserve our covers, sheets and pillowcases shape and feel. Garment dye follows fashion, colour follows form. So, all this is interesting, beautiful, but would be nothing without the certification that goes with it.
